Which border gates can foreigners enter Vietnam with an e-visa?

Traveler entering through an airport gate — border checkpoints accepting e-visa

Foreigners using an electronic visa (e-visa) must enter through an international border gate designated by the Government. There are currently 83 border gates accepting e-visas: 42 under the annex of Resolution 127/NQ-CP and 41 added by Resolution 389/NQ-CP. This article compiles the list from the original legal texts, grouped by type.

1. The legal rule

Under Article 20.2 of Law 47/2014/QH13, foreigners using e-visas enter through international border gates decided by the Government. Entering at a gate outside the list → entry may be refused. Always cross-check your planned gate against the official list below before booking.

2. The current e-visa regime

  • Resolution 127/NQ-CP (14 August 2023, effective 15 August 2023): e-visas issued to citizens of all countries and territories, regardless of purpose (tourism, family visit, business); validity up to 90 days, single or multiple entry; replaces Resolutions 79/NQ-CP and 60/NQ-CP.
  • Law 23/2023/QH15 (effective 15 August 2023): codified the e-visa regime (amending Articles 7.3 and 9 of Law 47/2014).
  • Resolution 389/NQ-CP (2 December 2025): added 41 border gates to the Resolution 127 list → 83 border gates in total.

The old figures (30 days, single entry, 80 countries under Resolutions 79/60) have been replaced — they no longer apply.

4. The original 42 gates under Resolution 127/NQ-CP

The annex of Resolution 127/NQ-CP lists 42 international border gates (air, land and seaports) accepting e-visas since 15 August 2023. See the annex of the original text for the full list — e-visa applicants should verify directly against the official text before finalising travel plans, as the list may be adjusted by further supplementary resolutions.

5. Practical notes

  • Check the gate before travelling: entering at a gate outside the list may lead to refused entry.
  • Long Thanh and Gia Binh airports: apply only once officially put into operation.
  • Background: Law 118/2025/QH15 added UD1/UD2 visas for digital-tech talent — it does not change the general e-visa regime above.
